Some of the industries are still divided on the bases of gender basis. Although, when it comes to gender equality at the highest level, the beauty industry comes out on top. Lalita Arya, Vice President- DermaPuritys presents her views on the need to encourage female leadership and promote gender equality.
Gender equality is expected to increase the support for female entrepreneurship, and clinics are showcasing such a high proportion of female employees which suggests that they being a part of the beauty industry play an important role in the drive towards gender equality and will continue to do so. The number of male-female employees is a significant question regarding the need for an hour. Today, more and more women are coming out with their beauty brands and businesses, moreover, they come up with new and creative ideas and products as they understand the emerging needs of the gender. The acceptance of home-grown brands has inspired women to come out with their ideas.
There are many ways we can all encourage greater female leadership from the ground up. For example, we should demonstrate equality to our youth as demonstrating fairness and support for women will reinforce to young people what positive gender roles should emerge and reinforce the foundations for a more equitable society for decades to come. We must continue raising awareness about areas where women are underrepresented, especially in industries that cater to female consumers. Looking at the beauty influencer community as well, we can see how male influencers are loved as equally as the female influencers.
You can’t say that a woman or a man will be better CEO, because it depends on the capability of an individual but on the other hand, women will have a much stronger point of view when it comes to the beauty industry because there are more women consumers as compared to men. Because in the end, it all comes down to the consumers.
