How did the Pandemic changed the way women look at their Skin

Over the past several weeks, women have taken to social media to share stories of how they’re building a more positive relationship with their skin at home. Some are finding the courage to go on video calls for work with zero concealers; others are realizing that amid all the bigger problems in this world right now, acne is just, well, acne.

The natural movement changed the gear to shape the beauty industry during this COVID-19 outbreak as women become more conscientious of the ingredients in beauty products and seek out what is considered safe. However, efficacy is also top-of-mind, with more than one-third of women agreeing that they care more about the effectiveness of a product than the ingredients it uses. While women expect brands to use natural ingredients, they ultimately choose a product based on efficacy, making it increasingly important for brands to link ingredient safety with function.

Women are becoming more conscious about their skin during COVID-19 as they are adapting home remedies instead of going to salons. Now-a-days homemade remedies are one of the most important things considered by women. They are also taking the benefits of healthy foods for their skin. Good nutrition is crucial for healthy skin, particularly in times when the immune system might need to fight back. Limited access to fresh food, they may compromise opportunities to continue eating a healthy and varied diet for their skin. Despite this, they are taking their skin health very seriously and consuming healthy foods to keep their skin healthy and glowing.

Avleen Bansal, Head Of Trainings, Make-up studio professional Amsterdam says “Beauty continues to move forward as women have learned to embrace their skin. Self-care has become one common ritual during the pandemic which has indulged women in following a strict skincare routine. Social media is flooded with pictures of women flaunting their bare faces and trying home-care regimes to compensate for the salon visits.”

“Pandemic has pushed the human species to look hard at all the gifts from nature and God. Be it a healthy body, healthy skin or healthy food” says Priya Bhandari, Cosmetologist, Skeyndor India, “Women have realized that quick fixes on the go may not last long but daily rituals and daily deposit of healthy habits will surely give lasting results. Everyone must follow a daily routine of CTMP- Cleansing, Toning, Moisturizing and Protection. While salon rituals might not be accessible very soon, but home remedies and home care routine products can help us save the precious look.”

The skin and COVID-19 interactions, as well as the consequences to the skin and mucous membranes of increased personal hygiene measures, should be recognized by dermatologists and their co-workers. The use of preventive measures, including emollients, barrier creams, and moisturizers, is essential in preventing skin complications aggravated by preventive measures during the pandemic.
