Celebrating the Doyenne: Sharmilee Kapur

“For most of history, Anonymous was a woman.” ~ Virginia Woolf. On this International Women’s Day, GlobalSpa recognizes and celebrates the women in the industry as we delve into their success mantra they follow, mistakes that have helped them grow, and of course, their WELLNESS philosophy.

Sharmilee Kapur is the Co-Founder of Atmantan Wellness Centre, who along with her husband, wanted people to approach wellness holistically and transform themselves to their most authentic self.

What is your wellness philosophy?

True wellness is always wellness of the atma, mana and tann… so my wellness philosophy has always been to imbibe wellness 3 fold- Spiritually (through my Pranic Healing practices), Mentally (living with positive beliefs and values), & Physically (by staying fit & active).

Your success mantra?

Never ever give up on yourself, cause you are your best supporter/believer; And while doing what you love, the joy and satisfaction which comes from the self within is the true measure of our life.

A lesson you learned from making a mistake?

Mistakes are humbling and they even shake up the core of us. My big lesson was to get to a point where I could look at it favourably for what it had taught me for the future. Once the lesson was accepted by me, the mistake stopped repeating.

Any piece of advice for all the women out there?

As a working woman, we are always juggling more than a working man. So my advice is to go easy on yourself and not guilt/beat yourself up over any aspect of not being perfect or simply something that falls off that overfull plate that we carry daily. As long as you are doing your best with the right intention, you have done it well.

What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?

My most proud achievement/moment comes from knowing that when I had an opportunity to do something, I chose to follow a meaningful path – one in wellness; seeing the dream of Atmantan Wellness Centre to fruition has been my life’s most proud moment.
