At a curated design summit, GROHE SPA brought together India’s leading architects and creatives to explore how personalised luxury & thoughtful design are reshaping the modern Indian home.
Your home is no longer where you live. The idea of a home has evolved into a private wellness retreat — and India’s design leaders agree. This evolving perspective took centre stage at an exclusive design-led evening hosted by GROHE SPA in New Delhi, where architects, designers, and industry leaders gathered to discuss how luxury today has moved away from excess and toward personalisation. Moderated by actor and host Kubbra Sait, the evening moved beyond a traditional product-launch format to explore how homes are adapting to the way we live now.
A highlight of the evening was a fireside conversation featuring celebrity interior designer Gauri Khan, architect Rajiv Parekh of Red Architects, and Bijoy Mohan, Executive Officer and Executive Vice President, LIXIL International, LIXIL Corporation. Together, they explored how the idea of luxury in Indian homes is becoming increasingly individual, particularly in spaces once considered purely utilitarian.
“The era of a one-size-fits-all bathroom is effectively over,” shared Gauri Khan. “Clients today aren’t simply asking for a shower; they want to shape how water interacts with the space — the flow, the positioning, the atmosphere. Luxury today is the freedom to personalise an experience, not just select a product.”

This shift from product to experience was brought alive through immersive installations that showcased modular shower systems such as GROHE Rainshower Aqua and Grohtherm Aqua. Rather than presenting them as fittings, the showcase positioned these systems as architectural tools, allowing designers to compose the shower space with the same intention as any other room in the home.
Architect Rajiv Parekh highlighted how this flexibility is changing the way architects approach private spaces. “At Red Architects, we’ve always believed in creating homes that evolve with the people who live in them,” he noted. “With modular systems like Rainshower Aqua, we can design the shower experience with far greater freedom—across ceilings, walls, or side panels—while keeping the engineering discreet and the experience seamless.”

Offering a broader market perspective, Priya Rustogi, Leader (Managing Director), India, LIXIL IMEA, spoke about how wellness-driven personalisation is shaping premium residential design across the country. “With GROHE SPA, the focus is on enabling architects and designers to create truly individual sanctuaries—where wellness is experienced through water, every single day,” she said.
Set against gallery-like installations and attended by leading architects and retail partners, the evening reflected a larger shift underway in Indian luxury living. Today’s most desirable homes are no longer defined by size or spectacle but by how intuitively they support daily rituals — through light, materiality, and thoughtful design.
