Jaipur witnessed a regal showdown at The Leela Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Polo Cup 2025 as the Leela Team emerged victorious in a thrilling final.

Polo in India has long been synonymous with royalty and has earned the esteemed title of ‘Sport of Kings’. Embracing this legacy, The Leela Palaces, Hotels, and Resorts reaffirmed its commitment to preserving this elite sport by hosting the third edition of The Leela Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Polo Cup 2025 in partnership with the Rajasthan Polo Club. Held from 4th to 9th February 2025 in the Pink City, the Polo Cup was a vantage point for all things luxury, equestrian, and culture.

With His Highness Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur at the helm of The Leela Polo Team and under the theme ‘Time Travel with The Leela’, the third season was an elaborate affair. While the sporty celebration began a day later, guests were invited for a memorable evening and a regal dinner at the Hawa Mahal, at The Leela Palace Jaipur. The breezy, private dining space on the terrace saw a conflux of royalty and glamour.

The next morning, guests witnessed the thunderous polo players in action, and beyond the field, the event also invited guests to sip champagne under shaded canopies and partake in exclusive soirées. BMW Group India joined The Leela Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Polo Cup 2025 as a proud partner and offered exclusive experiences to the guests, celebrating the spirit of excellence and heritage that define both the sport and the brand.

A Celebration of Polo and Heritage

The Rajasthan Polo Club bloomed brighter than ever with roaring cheers as teams battled for the final match between Team Jaipur Leela and All Stars Polo Team, By Suhana. After an intense showdown, Jaipur Leela emerged victorious with a thrilling 9-8 win, securing the prestigious cup. Dr. Shivangi Jai Singh was awarded the title of Most Valuable Player for her exceptional performance throughout the championship. The event culminated with Anuraag Bhatnagar, CEO of The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, and actor Ishaan Khatter presenting the coveted trophy to the winning team, followed by an elegant high tea curated to match the tournament’s royal essence.

A Game of Strategy, Skill, and Sporting Excellence

The final match witnessed some stellar performances, with players showcasing remarkable horsemanship and tactical mastery. Leading the charge for Jaipur Leela, Shamsheer Ali delivered an outstanding performance, scoring five crucial goals, while Lance Watson added three goals to the tally. The team's triumph was further cemented by HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh, who contributed one goal to the scoreboard, with Mahendra Singh also playing a vital role in the team’s victory. On the opposing side, All Stars Polo Team, by Suhana, put up an equally formidable fight. Matias Vial displayed exceptional skill, matching Ali’s feat with five goals, while Dhruvpal Godara added three goals to the team’s score. Angad Kalan and Dr. Shivangi Jai Singh also played pivotal roles, showcasing their agility and expertise on the field.
