Every now and then, makeup trends keep evolving. The use of blush on the face can create numerous looks. Blush is one of the most underrated makeup products, even though it has the power to instantly add life to your look. That dewy pop of pink just makes the skin look oh-so healthy and pretty. The appropriate shade
Choosing the right colour of blush is very important as a darker blush could make you look clownish, while a very light one could make you look washed out.
? Fair skin tones: opt for corals, baby doll pinks, and golden pinks
? Medium skin tones: go for medium pinks, mauves
? Deeper skin tones: can go for maroon undertone blushes, dark pinks, orange, mauve
Blend it like a glam queen!
There are various textures available in the stores for blush, pressed powder, loose powder, liquid, cream, tints. My personal favourite for this season is liquid and cream. These blend like butter, and give a healthy shine to the face, especially in the winters. With dewy skin being in vogue currently, this is the perfect one to choose. For people who prefer a matte finish, powder blush would be the right fit.
Confusing blush with highlighter?
A good blended blush enhances your cheekbones, and gives a sculpted look to your face! Many confuse this with highlighters, which reflect light. It’s not to be put on the entire cheek, just on the top of the cheek bones to give a reflective shine! Whereas blush is used mostly at the centre of the face - the part of your cheek that pops when you smile. Blush + highlighters also look lovely.
Which one should you choose?
Blushes also come in different kinds of finish, such as matte, and glitter or shimmer finishes.
The ones with shimmer look stunning for evening wear. I suggest the matte finish for people with oily skin, or the ones who don’t like shimmer in their blush. Make sure you go light with the shimmer and glitter ones, to avoid it from spreading on the entire face.
